Jun 19, 2019 · Basically, if you can still differentiate between bare wall and mud, then you’re going to need to apply a second coat. With a high quality primer and care, however, no second coat should be necessary. Once this is done, all you’ll need to do is make sure that you have the time set aside to paint and you’re good to go! Using a paint roller with half inch to three quarter inch nap roller cover, dip the roller cover in your bucket of skimming mud. Roll drywall compound evenly on the surface to be skimmed. It is best to work in a section of four feet by eight feet. You don’t want the mud drying out before you have a chance to skim it off with your drywall knife. :) Those awkward angles also become even more difficult to paint if you’re avoiding already wet surfaces. The best technique is to move the sprayer continuously with smooth, long strokes. The nozzle of the sprayer can be rotated for horizontal or vertical strokes, depending on the direction of the surface you’re painting.

This "Drywall Primer" from Ace Hardware (brand) foolishly ONLY states under conditions that plaster should be painted after 30 days. It doesn't even mention drywall... Helpful Tip - When priming drywall, you may want to tint your primer to the color of your final paint color, especially if you intend to paint the walls a dark color. Most drywall primers are tintable.

If you put a couple screws in the middle of the drywall to make sure is doesn't vibrate during deep noises then you could do that as well. Recycle the empty paint container . Once you’ve used up your paint, recycle the empty paint container – simply allow the contents to dry out, then bring to a Resene PaintWise collection centre with the lid off the container so staff can see it is dry and empty. Each paint container you recycle is one less container that ends up in a landfill.
